Nicenet does occasionally contact administrators and teachers to solicit donations and communicate needs for the continued operation of the ICA as well as improvements and new features. An advertising free Internet Classroom Assistant is an important promise from Nicenet to the education community and one that we stand firmly behind.

About the Google Search Page

Nicenet's Google search page produces results nearly identical to searches done directly through Google's site, including advertisements that are purchased by organizations and delivered based on the search words that you enter. When you use the Nicenet search page a portion of the revenue generated by advertisements is given to Nicenet. As a volunteer organization, this search page offers Nicenet a way of generating revenue that does not distract us from our core efforts to deliver and further develop free tools like the ICA for educators.

Please know that Nicenet's Google search page is not included within the classroom environment of the ICA and that all the revenue generated by use of the search page is used to finance the development and delivery of the ICA.

How does Nicenet generate income when I use Nicenet's Google search page ?

Nicenet generates income from your use of the search page if and when you click on advertisements that are deliverd by Google (advertisements that are related to your search terms). These ads are delivered through a Google program called "Adwords". You can find out more about the program advertisers use to get ads placed on the search results as well as more information about the program that generates revenue for Nicenet at Google's advertising site. To better understand how this program operates and the terms that Nicenet is bound to by utilizing the Google search bar, please refer to the program policies that Nicenet has agreed to.

What does Nicenet do with the income generated by the search page ?

All income is applied to the costs of operating the Internet Classroom Assistant. Nicenet is an entirely volunteer organization so it is safe to say that this income goes directly toward the service provided or to services that will be provided in the future. These include improvements in availability of the software, performance of the software, capacity of the software, release of the next version of the ICA, availability of new and resource intensive features within the software and a variety of other uses.
